Donna Huber is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked in the mental health field for more than 25 years. She has worked in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings, social service agencies and at the University of Louisville Student Counseling Center. She is passionate about helping women going through a variety of life transitions.
For the past 15 years, she has been in private practice specializing in perinatal mood disorders (which includes pregnancy/postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD) as well as mothers making the transition into motherhood. She also works with women struggling with infertility, PTSD resulting from a traumatic childbirth and women who have experienced perinatal loss and/or finding out their child will be born with a disability.
Donna decided to specialize in perinatal mental health after struggling with postpartum depression herself. She is devoted and passionate about helping other mothers who may feel overwhelmed, depressed and anxious at a time when they feel they should be joyful and excited about their new baby.
Donna has a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2001. She has completed specialized training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders and Perinatal Grief and Loss. She has served as a member of Postpartum Support Kentuckiana which provides support and assistance to postpartum women, and is also a member of the National Association of Perinatal Social Workers.
Donna works to create a safe, supportive environment for her clients. She believes the therapeutic relationship is the most important component of therapy and is the catalyst for change and healing. Donna uses a client-centered and strength-based approach, while drawing on other evidence- based practices to best meet the needs of her clients. She believes it is an honor to be trusted by her clients to do the work she does. She looks forward to hearing from you and sharing your life journey.
