Donna Huber is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked in the mental health field for more than 20 years. She has worked in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings, social service agencies and at the University of Louisville Student Counseling Center, where she gained much experience with the college age population and the struggles they faced. She currently works with women struggling from depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, stress, grief and loss, and relationship difficulties.
For the past 8 years, she has been in private practice specializing in perinatal mood disorders (which includes pregnancy/postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, as well as mothers making the transition into motherhood). She works with women struggling with PTSD resulting from a traumatic childbirth as well as women who have experienced perinatal loss and/or finding out their child will be born with a disability.
Donna decided to specialize in perinatal mental health after struggling with postpartum depression herself. She is devoted to helping other mothers who may feel overwhelmed, depressed and anxious at a time when they feel they should be joyful and excited about their new baby.
Donna has a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville. She became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2001. She has specific training in treating perinatal mood disorders from Postpartum International and has served as a member of Postpartum Support Kentuckiana which provides support and assistance to postpartum women. She is also a member of National Association of Perinatal Social Workers.
