Teea Fullen-Barnes is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, an EMDR trained therapist and Lactation Educator. Teea provides individual counseling to adults and adolescents 15 and up. She has a special interest in working with clients from the BIPOC community. Teea has completed specialized training in Advance Perinatal Mental Health, Black Perinatal Mental Health, Perinatal Mood and Anxiety disorders and Perinatal Grief and Loss.
Teea utilizes approaches such as Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Solution Focused, Dialectical Behavioral and EMDR therapies to guide her treatment. She enjoys helping individuals overcome challenges they may face in order to achieve their goals and to become the best version of themselves. Teea also enjoys helping individuals create healthy boundaries and incorporating the outdoors in counseling.
Teea received her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Western Kentucky University, a Master’s degree in Athletic Training from Spalding University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University. As a former athletic trainer, she’s helped a diverse population of athletes, as well as the general population through physical injuries and limitations. Her work included providing emotional support, active listening, empathy, and overall mental health assistance. This foundation and professional experience was integral in shaping the way she provides mental health support in the counseling setting.
