Teea Fullen-Barnes is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate as well as a Licensed and Certified Athletic Trainer. Teea provides individual counseling to adults. She has a special interest and experience working with postpartum clients, college students, mothers exploring their identity outside of motherhood and clients from the BIPOC/minority community. She also enjoys working with clients dealing with depression, anxiety, stress management, self esteem issues, relationship concerns, boundary setting and other general mental health concerns.
Teea utilizes approaches such as person-centered, cognitive behavioral and solution focused therapies to guide her treatment. She enjoys helping individuals overcome challenges they may face to achieve their goals and to be the best version of themselves. Teea also enjoys helping individuals create healthy boundaries and incorporating the outdoors in counseling.
Teea has completed specialized training to diagnose and treat perinatal mood and anxiety disorders as well as perinatal grief and loss. She gained experience working with pregnant and postpartum clients during her practicum at Bloom Counseling + Wellness Studio. Teea received her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Western Kentucky University, a Master’s degree in Athletic Training from Spalding University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University. As an athletic trainer, she’s helped a diverse population of athletes, as well as the general population through physical injuries and limitations. Her work included providing emotional support, active listening, empathy and overall mental health assistance. This foundation and professional experience was integral in shaping the way she provides mental health support in the counseling setting.
